5 TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

You’ve spent months planning your wedding. When the day finally arrives, your job is simple: live it.
Here are five small tips I’ve learned from photographing weddings that can help you slow down, stay present and enjoy your day even more.
TIP 01 — RELAX

This is for the couples that manages everything.
Plan as much as you can before the wedding, but once the day arrives, let go.
You are the guests of honour at your own wedding. You shouldn't be the ones answering every question, solving every little problem or worrying about what happens next.
Trust the people around you, take a breath and enjoy what you spent all this time planning.
The planning is done. Now it's time to live it.

TIP 02 — HOLD THAT HUG
When someone you love hugs you, don't rush to let go.
Hold it for another second.
Whether it's your parents, grandparents, best friend or your new husband or wife, give yourself time to actually experience that moment.
Yes, your photographer and videographer will love you for it — but more importantly, you get to enjoy that hug just a little bit longer.
Those small moments often become some of the most meaningful memories of the entire day.
TIP 03 — FIND A QUIET MOMENT TOGETHER

Your wedding day can move incredibly fast.
After the ceremony, find 10–15 minutes when you can step away from everyone and simply be together.
No guests. No congratulations. No schedule.
Just the two of you.
Take a breath, look at each other and realize:
We just got married.
Sometimes the quietest part of the day becomes one of the moments you remember most.
TIP 04 — EAT & DRINK

This sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how many couples forget to eat or drink enough on their wedding day.
Have breakfast. Drink water throughout the day. And especially during a summer wedding, make sure you stay hydrated.
It's going to be a long, exciting and emotional day, and you'll enjoy it much more if you've actually given your body some fuel. And yes —
if I notice you've forgotten, I'll probably be the photographer bringing you a bottle of water.
TIP 05 — PREPARE YOUR GROUP PHOTO LIST

Group photos can either take 15 minutes or feel like they take forever.
Before the wedding, make a simple list of the group photos that really matter to you.
Then give that list to your photographer and choose one person who knows most of your family and friends — a sibling, best friend, wedding planner or someone from the wedding party.
They can help gather the right people while your photographer focuses on taking the photos.
Less searching for Uncle Peter.
Less standing around.
More time enjoying your wedding.
Your wedding doesn't need to run perfectly to be unforgettable.
Things might be late. The weather might change. Someone might forget something.
That's okay.
Be present. I'll preserve the rest.
